Kenjotei Café
Enjoy the Flavors of Kanazawa, in a Sophisticated Atmosphere
The ground-floor café at Kenjotei offers plenty of counter seating, comfortable even for guests dining on their own. Enjoy fragrant matcha green tea from the 160-year-old shop Nodaya Tea in Kanazawa; house-blend coffee roasted by the popular Nizami Coffee, based in Suzu on the tip of the Noto Peninsula; premium Kenjo Kaga Bocha roasted tea from Maruhachi Seichajo in Kaga; nama-rakugan pressed sweets filled with chunky sweet bean paste, prepared by the long-beloved Moroeya in Kanazawa; and other familiar favorites that have become a part of life in Kanazawa.

Nodaya Tea
Established in 1859. We use rich, fragrant matcha green tea from Nodaya Tea, a shop with over 160 years of history in Kanazawa. The owner personally visits tea producers each year, to purchase only the tea leaves that meet expectations. Nodaya Tea is also the trusted choice for large-scale tea ceremony events held in Kanazawa.

Nizami Coffee
Nizami Coffee draws coffee lovers from all around Japan to its location in the far reaches of Ishikawa.
The roasts are carefully adjusted from day to day, based on things like the state of the raw beans, the weather, and the condition of the roasting machine, giving their coffee a trademark rich aroma with a subtle sweetness. Kenjotei’s house blend uses dark-roasted beens — Nizami’s specialty.

Maruhachi Seichajo
The artisans at Maruhachi Seichajo work tirelessly to produce the finest in Kaga Bocha roasted tea —
a variety popular enough here that many people in the area simply call it “tea.” Its mellow, full-bodied aroma goes especially well with food. Their Kenjo Kaga Bocha is a particularly premium item, originally produced as a gift for Emperor Showa, who only drank hojicha roasted tea.
Strawberry Afternoon Tea
This seasonal afternoon tea showcases fresh strawberries alongside a selection of delicacies inspired by the finest ingredients of Ishikawa.
Enjoy an elegant assortment of strawberry sweets, including silky panna cotta, a strawberry and berry tart, and a rich no-bake cheesecake made with three varieties of cheese. A charming strawberry-shaped monaka wafer is filled with homemade sweet red bean paste, shiratama rice dumplings and whipped cream. The selection also includes a rich gâteau au chocolat, carefully prepared with the perfect balance of fresh eggs and chocolate, as well as a refreshing lemon jelly with a delicate citrus tang. Our savoury selection highlights the flavours of Ishikawa, featuring Noto beef roast beef, Kinjiso spinach with dengaku miso, and a delicate Kaga lotus root dumpling.A selection of drinks, including matcha, coffee and Kaga roasted stem tea, may be enjoyed throughout your afternoon tea.We invite you to savour this special seasonal experience, bringing together the bright, sweet-tart flavour of strawberries and the rich culinary heritage of Ishikawa.
